A gift made in celebration or in honor of a teacher, student, relative or friend is a generous and thoughtful gesture recognizing an individual's life and accomplishments.
When a memorial gift is made, honoring someone's life after their death, the URI Foundation notifies the next of kin by mail. These gifts are also publicized in the Foundation’s annual report. Honorary gifts can be made for any other reason, such as to celebrate occasions, etc. These gifts are not publicized.
To make either type of gift, please send a letter indicating the purpose of your gift as well as the name and address of the individual/organization being remembered or honored.
For memorial gifts, if a memorial fund has not previously been established, your check should include the name of the honoree and the name and address of his/her next of kin. To determine if a fund has been created, please call 401.874.4786.
